TKGA provides a variety of educational programs for knitters of all skill levels. We'd like to share a few of the comments we've received from our students.
BASICS, BASICS, BASICS
"Yes, I did the Basics course. I had been knitting for ages, but my confidence just wasn't what it needed to be to tackle Level 1 [of the Masters Program]. I felt like I didn't know what I didn't know. Going through the Basics course was very empowering, and I did learn a lot...I definitely think it was worth the time and effort." – Mary
PROFESSIONAL
FINISHING TECHNIQUES
What did you learn? "Think about finishing before
you start knitting! I know this is an old rule. Maybe I should start
following it rather than just jumping into the knitting... Also, I
swatched the stitch pattern..., but I've never swatched shaping stitches and
I should have.
"I like to knit, of course. Learning how to finish my
knits correctly has made that part of the process more time-consuming, but
also much more enjoyable and effective. ...
"All of these exercises have
been learning experiences for me, but I especially appreciate the little
pieces of yarn that you use to show where I could do better. (And I was one
of those people who avoided buttonholes, so that's all been new to me!)
I now see my work so much better....
"Thank you for an interesting and
educational experience. I'm really glad I took this
course." – Elizabeth
"Thank you so much, Dixie! I have just started the Master's [Program]. I am soooo glad I took your [Professional Finishing] course and would recommend it to all." – Beve
" I have always knitted by following the written pattern exactly. After your course, I will definitely stray and even attempt my own design starting with the ribbing and buttonholes." – Sandra
CERTIFICATION FOR KNITTING JUDGES
"I'm having a great time judging
and teaching. You have been such a help and inspiration to me. I can't
thank you enough. Your judging program has made me look at knitting in a
whole different light." – Carol
